Vocational qualifications are changing. The Qualification Credit Framework - the QCF - is a new system built to be more responsive to the demands of employers and learners. QCF is intended to be more relevant to employers needs and more accessible to learners.

The QCF is a framework for creating and accrediting qualifications such as our tiling courses, decorating courses and plastering courses.

How The QCF Works

QCF is the new framework for creating and validating qualifications in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It aims to allow to learners to gain qualifications in the way which is most convenient for them, with a wider range of opportunities than the NVQ system currently allows.

Because QCF courses are partly designed by the employers themselves, you have a better assurance that the skills which the courses teach are relevant to the job itself and a better assurance that you will be learning skills which an employer is looking for in an interview.

What QCF courses Do

QCF courses:

  • Recognise smaller steps of learning, and give learners the chance to build up qualifications little by little.
  • Help learners achieve skills and qualifications that directly correlate with industry needs
  • Enable work-based training courses to be nationally recognised.
  • Allow easier transferrence of qualifications from one European country to another, via the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).

Visit the QDCA website for more information about QCF courses.
